Sports: We offer a full sports program for the fall and winter. In the fall we have men's soccer and ladies' volleyball. Our season ends with an annual invitational tournament held on our grounds. In the winter we offer men's and ladies' basketball as well as cheerleading. This season also ends with an invitational tournament which we attend.
Team sports practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Cheering practice is on Wednesday afternoons. Our games are normally played on Mondays and Fridays. We play teams in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
March Madness: We also offer an opportunity for every elementary student to participate in what we fondly call "March Madness". This is an intramural tournament strictly for 1st through 6th grades. All students are placed on teams - Girls vs. Girls and Boys vs. Boys. Each team is coached by high school students. The girls are also taught cheers and coached by the cheerleaders. We have many fun activities between the games as well. The tournament is held on a Friday evening in March and is enjoyed by all.
Fine Arts: Victory students have the opportunity to compete in Fine Arts on both a regional and state level. Among the categories of participation are academics, creative writing, spelling, oratory, preaching/teaching, singing, instrumental, and arts and crafts. Historically, Victory does very well as these competitions. We consistently place in the top three spots in many of the categories. Fine Arts gives our students the opportunity to broaden their education and to share some of the many gifts which the Lord has bestowed upon them. We encourage each student to participate in at least one category.
Student Council Our students are given the opportunity to participate in student government where they learn first hand the "politics" of an organization. Meetings are held once a week during the lunch period. Elected officers steer the direction of the meetings. Among the many activities sponsored by the student council are the annual Praise Service which is student planned and led on the last day before Thanksgiving break, our Christmas party, Homecoming, and other activities. Activities are funded by our annual pizza sale and the Spring Fling, which is our school carnival. Student Council is open to any student from 7th through 12th grade that has a desire to participate. Officers are elected from within the group.
Yearbook: Victory produces an annual yearbook entirely laid out by the students. Memories are captured throughout the year by students and parents alike and are compiled into a yearbook which is sent to the publisher to be professionally printed. The cost of this is kept to a minimum by advertisements from local businesses. We meet periodically on Saturday mornings throughout the year to work on this project. This is open to students from 7th through 12th grades. Students participating receive a grade for Journalism and credit is earned by high school students.
